04/09 Good Friday
Why do they call it good friday?
The day on which Jesus was crucified is traditionally know as "Good Friday"
as this is the day that the penalty was paid for all the sin of all mankind
and the way was opened for all believers to have access to the throne of grace.
Jesus saw the restoration of mankind to Himself and God as a joyous event
and it was this joy that enabled Him to endure the cross.
Heb 12:1-3
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who
for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat
down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such
opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
