Please read first.
When I am reading english books , I always meet plenty of new words .For me ,I don't look up the dictionary at first .I try to ignore them and guess the meaning from the whole paragraph.Maybe I will meet them again .But that doesn't matter .omit them twice.till you find them third time ,you can check the meaning from the tool books.
Those are what I did in reading .As far as I am concerned ,that won't influnce your speed a lot .since you meet them third time ,you will be impressed and easy to recite the word after knowing the explainations of that.
