i agree with you! and i do the same as what you said!
when i meet new words, i just pass them quickly, i can understand what the article mean in fact ,just not very in detail. and sometimes the details are not very important for the article, they are just some decorated. and in my opinion, if i consult the dictionary whenever i meet the new words, i will not be able to enjoy the novel. so i do just like what you suggest to to ! that's ok, i like to read the english novel in that way!
