Project Manager
Specific responsibilities include:
Helping to hire a talented team of software developers and software quality assurance engineers.
Evaluating, managing, and mentoring the team as it grows.
Designing and implementing processes that successfully integrate with Lithium’s lightweight management philosophy.
Scheduling projects and ensuring clear communication of projects’ status and milestones.
Prioritizing and coordinating bug fixes and managing internal releases.
Allocating and balancing resources among multiple concurrent projects to achieve consistent on-time delivery.
Participating in regular conference calls between the China office and Lithium headquarters in the United States.
Periodic travel to the United States.
The project manager role is demanding, requiring a combination of technical acumen, managerial skill, and an ability to engage with North American personnel across time zones. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
A master’s degree or better from a top engineering school.
At least 8 years’ experience as a software engineer.
At least 4 years’ experience directly managing engineering teams of 10 or more.
Experience working with at least one North American or British company, preferably an independent software vendor (ISV) of under 100 people.
A proven track record of delivering shipping software on schedule and at high quality levels.
Mastery of written English and clear verbal English.
A solid understanding of and experience with Web technologies such as Java Servlets, JSP and AJAX. Experience with high traffic public Web sites is highly preferred.
An understanding of the principles of online communities and social networking sites is also strongly preferred.
