Process Engineer
Summary Plans, executes and/or directs activities concerned with establishing and evaluating manufacturing parameters, equipment, and process materials for existing, and developmental electronic packaging technologies. Responsible for customer process support, reporting to Process Team Leader, Suzhou Technology Excellence Center.
Principal Accountabilities 1. Provides electronics manufacturing process solutions to external and internal customers.2. Directs and coordinates activities concerned with design, selection, procurement, assembly, use and calibration of instruments, equipment and fixtures. 3. Conducts training sessions on process materials selection and test analysis. 4. Develops test plans and procedures. Conducts or directs technical personnel in associated activities. Assists and directs university students on process development projects.5. Uses computer software and hardware to conduct tests and analyze data.6. Analyzes and interprets test data and generates reports in accordance with ISO and departmental procedures.7. Provides cost estimates for internal and external projects, capital justifications for equipment and outside services.8. Conducts analysis of customer product to determine potential yield problems, coordinates failure analysis and provides corrective recommendations.9. Creates marketing tools for use by the sales force and assists the sales engineer in the sale of UIC products.10. Provides professional communication and direct contact with customers and vendors.11. Develops world class papers for seminars and publications relative to UIC product domain.
Minimum Requirements - Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent level of technical knowledge obtained from seminars and related courses and on-the-job training. Five to ten years experience evaluating electronics manufacturing processes, materials, and yield analysis.- A willingness to travel to customer sites and technical conferences is required. Must be extremely articulate in spoken and written communications. Must think analytically. Strong interpersonal skills are required.
Responsibility for Quality Procedures or Direct Product Quality Adheres to Universal Quality System policies and procedures and uses Total Cycle Time principles and standard problem solving tools to continuously improve work processes.
Physical Demands - Requires the ability to use a computer on a frequent basis. - Requires the ability to communicate clearly in giving presentations. - Must be able to communicate clearly with fellow workers.- The ability to travel to customer sites or technical conferences may occasionally be required.
