that was great..ok, with only 140 bucks u were sitting at the front 4th seats, watching the most outstanding ballet performance in the world.
the costumes were simple and even shabby, thinking about the mother of the princes, the queen, showed up in two occasions with the same gown. the throne was made of two simple chairs, covered with a yellow cloth.
by the moment when u were sighing for the decaying of the art appreciation market , u were contrasted by the magnificent performance those dancers given, especially by the actress, someone who help u come to understand: the dance, instead of an simple accumulation of the practiced actions, it is but way to express yourself, by dancing, u have the world, or the world is just u,,,
the prince was not that indulged at the show at the very beginning, when he showed up among those beautiful female dancers acting as the servants, or princess from other countries. instead of being elegant and introspective, he was kind of easy going, well, a little more too easy going, casual even, like a butterfly happily in among the beautiful flowers, probably because of the gourmet just taken from the Moscow restaurant located beside the theater ( the Moscow restaurant boosts the most genuine Russian gourmet here in Beijing.) i was not at all convinced by the prince's dance, don't know, maybe he was not handsome, ha; well, in my eye, he didn't demonstrate equivalent level of dancing art that a Moscow Royal Ballet dancer could be expected to perform.
the happily easy-going was and will not be the major character that a first class russian ballet group will be giving us. this fact was proved when the heroine, the core person of the whole show appeared on the stage...well, she was not beautiful,,or neither perfectly well-shaped, but she was elegant, the past affliction had built her the overwhelming stunning beauty and charm that diffused throughout the whole show. she was suffered, and had gone through difficulties that a young lady may not be able to imagine, she waited until the One comes and helped to save her from the hell...
the most breathtaking moments comes when the prince and the white swan princess played a dual...both the two actors were in their papers, lived through the painful past, and the merry moments when the two met, finally the happy life that both yearned for in the future...
the actress showed another face, evil and casual, when she acted as the black swan, the daughter of the witch, dancing with the prince in the palace the next day. well, u were surprised to see she can smile, smile in a lascivious way.
in the most cases, as i understand, the most heart touching pieces come more often from tragedy rather than the comedy. the former moves people to introspect, to think over what is life itself, something spiritual,that someone said i lack of.ha.
