the computer virus is very similiar like the bio virus in reality
u have no need to take medicine to protect u from virus or flu, in fact, there is no way and no such kinda panacea at all for flu virus adapts and changes so quickly in micro environment.
and it's same in computer world, running a anti-virus is very funny thing, wasting ur resource, and even bring up more (collision) problems, heee...
so what u can do then? we all know should keep warmer during cold days. and here it's same, just keep urslef from those unsafe programs, the most important things is that never open/run attachment from unknow source. remember, keep alert always, even u got backed with such a so called virus ware!
